Completed demolition, re-arrangement of the current teaching facilities inclusive of the provision of a new bathroom, redesign of the current bathrooms and the installation of several kitchen area and a Counselling department.
Challenges
Works were to be done in the Christmas break, between 17th November and 21st of January. No architect meant the Contractor was completely responsible for the design, including finishes, fixtures & fittings.
Success Factors
The works completed within the required time frames and to a high quality of workmanship. Defects were kept to a minimum through continual site reviews with the Contractor and defect rectification being carried out throughout the project.

Value Added
Girvan Waugh were able to design and construct toilet facilities that worked within the existing services. The preference was for plasterboard ceilings to be constructed. At the time the school was planning to install sir conditioning at a later stage. An innovative compromise was reached with a plasterboard ceiling perimeter and grid, ceiling tile system installed to each classroom. This meant sir conditioning could be retro fitted with minimal costs.
